Ardenwood is at 34600 Ardenwood Boulevard and normally opens Tuesday–Sunday, 10 am–4 pm, closing Mondays. October falls within the April–mid-November historic season. The regular train and Patterson House tours run Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, not Saturdays; special events can differ.

Editorial plan: choose a two-hour version by interest

  • Saturday short version: animals, the hay barn, and farm tools, plus any listed naturalist program. Avoid promising children a train ride.
  • Sunday history version: ask about house tours and trains at the entrance, then fit farm exploration around the available times.
  • Let children choose a tool or crop, guess its use, then check the interpretation. Finish with a quiet moment to compare discoveries.
Separate parking from admission and check event pricing

Parking is listed as free, but admission is charged and the entrance is cashless. Special events can change prices and activities, so check your date. Dogs, bicycles, and modern recreation equipment such as balls are prohibited; focus on the farm visit.
