A coffee you were already planning to buy might come with a discounted cake slice. A planned mall visit might be a chance to pick up a birthday gift. This guide puts the conditions beside the price: decide whether an offer fits your plans before making a trip. All dates and times below use Bay Area local time.

All month | 85°C: Buy a coffee, add a cake slice for $1

If you're already stopping at 85°C for coffee, check the App for a September Sweet Treat coupon. The official website confirms September 1–30, 2026: add a cake slice for $1 and pay the regular price for coffee. Not all drinks and cakes qualify.

• How to claim: Add a qualifying coffee and cake slice to your order. Before paying, ask staff to scan your App member QR code and apply the coupon.
• Requirements: app membership; once per member; no points needed. Coffee can be any size, but the variety must be eligible under the coupon.
• Restrictions: In-store redemption only; no delivery or combining offers. Selection varies by store, while supplies last. Redeem before the store closes on September 30.
• Bay Area starting point: The San Jose store is at 1183 S. De Anza Blvd., Ste. 10. The brand directory also lists Pleasanton and San Leandro. Its online ordering links do not replace this coupon's required in-store redemption.

September 29 | Peet’s: 25¢ medium drip coffee

Peet’s confirms $0.25 medium drip coffee in store for National Coffee Day on September 29, 2026. This one-day offer applies to drip coffee, not lattes or cold brew.

• How to redeem: buy at the counter of a Peet’s retail coffeebar on September 29, one per customer. The published terms do not require membership.
• Restrictions: modifiers cost extra; no stacking. Website and app orders, airport stores, supermarkets and other licensed locations are excluded.
• Bay Area tip: find a nearby retail coffeebar in the official directory and confirm its hours and participation before leaving.

9/25 | Peet's: $1 small cold brew in the afternoon

This month's Orange Friday is Friday, September 25, from noon until closing. At participating Northern California Peet's retail coffeebars, mention ORANGE FRIDAY at checkout to buy a small Cold Brew for $1.

• Requirements: this is a paid special, limited to one per person. Add-ons cost extra; cannot be combined with other offers. The published terms do not list membership or app requirements.
• Location limits: Not valid at airports, grocery stores, other licensed locations, or Peets.com. A Peet's sign does not guarantee participation.
• Location starting point: Berkeley's Vine Street store is at 2124 Vine Street; check its page for hours. Orange Friday eligibility has not been confirmed store by store for this article. Ask before making a special trip.

On sale this month | Peet’s $30 Cold Brew Pass: count your likely visits first

Peetnik Rewards members can buy the $30 Cold Brew Pass in the app Sep 1–30, 2026. It provides one medium Cold Brew daily for 30 consecutive days from purchase. This is separate from the Sep 25 $1 small Cold Brew offer.

• Use each daily reward that day; unused drinks do not accumulate. Fewer visits do not qualify for a partial refund. Passes are nonrefundable, nontransferable and limited to one per person.
• Confirm your regular store first. Participating Peet’s coffeebars qualify; airport, supermarket and other licensed stores are excluded. Modifiers cost extra, so foam toppings and other drinks are not automatically included.
• Sep 30 is the purchase deadline, not everyone’s final redemption date. A pass bought Sep 30 still runs for 30 consecutive days from purchase; check the available daily reward in the app.

Ongoing benefit | Starbucks: stay for an eligible refill

This is an ongoing benefit. Buy and enjoy a drink in the café, then get eligible hot or iced brewed coffee or tea refills during the same visit at participating stores. Ask the barista and use a for-here cup. Leaving and returning is not the same visit.

• Your first drink and refill can differ. Buy the drink you want first; free refills cover eligible brewed coffee or tea, not another complimentary latte.
• Excluded refills: Cold Brew, Nitro Cold Brew, Iced Tea Lemonade, flavored iced tea and Refreshers.
• Best if you already plan to spend time in the café. Ask about the store’s rules before buying your first drink. Avoid accidentally placing a separate paid app order when requesting a refill.

Ongoing benefit | IKEA Family: a regular coffee or tea in store

This is not a September-only offer. US IKEA Family members can get a regular coffee or tea in store without buying another item. It works well when you're already shopping for furniture. Check the store for eligible days, drinks, and restaurant hours, especially on weekends.

• How to redeem: confirm you're enrolled in IKEA Family, then show your Family barcode in the app, mobile wallet, or membership email at the Swedish Restaurant. Having a regular website account doesn't necessarily mean you're enrolled in Family.
• Bay Area stores: Emeryville, 4400 Shellmound Street; East Palo Alto, 1700 East Bayshore Road. Both official pages list a Swedish Restaurant. Check restaurant hours separately from store hours.
• Keep the scope clear: This does not mean any latte, iced drink, or unlimited refills. Do not assume every small planning studio can redeem it.

Birthday benefit | Sephora: Members can claim an in-store gift without a purchase

If you're within your birthday redemption window, check the Beauty Insider birthday gift. This is an ongoing member benefit, not something everyone can claim in September. Official 2026 terms allow redemption during your birthday month or within two weeks before or after your birthday, once per person per year.

• How to claim: Meet membership requirements and enter your actual birthday. In store, provide the email or phone number registered to your membership and ask staff to check this year's available gifts.
• Purchase requirements: no purchase is needed for in-store redemption. Online redemption at Sephora requires $25 in merchandise after discounts and before tax. The two channels have different rules.
• Stock and location: Options vary by store, membership tier, and stock. No particular brand's set is guaranteed. In the Bay Area, check the Emeryville store at 5626 Bay Street and its official page before going.

Birthday benefit | Peet's: Check your 14-day drink reward

Eligible Peetnik Rewards members can receive a birthday drink reward, valid for 14 days after it's issued. This is not free coffee upon signup. You must join at least 7 days before your birthday, enter your birthday when signing up, and make at least one qualifying scanned purchase or app order-ahead purchase within the 180 days before your birthday.

• How to redeem: check the app on your birthday, manually select Birthday Bonus before redeeming, then use it in store or with order ahead. Bottled drinks are excluded.
• Purchase terms: Prior purchase eligibility applies, but redeeming the birthday reward does not require buying another drink. If the reward hasn't appeared, check your enrollment date, birthday details, and purchase history; don't assume it can be reissued.
• This ongoing benefit is separate from the $1 Cold Brew offer on September 25. The dates are not interchangeable, and combining them should not be assumed.
