These are major providers to check, not a claim that every provider serves every city or building. Start with the California broadband map, then enter the full street address and unit number on each provider’s site. Map data can lag; the provider must confirm the product, connection, and installation. Ask management about building-wide internet and installation permission.
Internet support and moving links
Check fiber, cable, and fixed wireless separately. When changing providers, confirm the new connection works before ending the old service, and retain equipment-return receipts.

Mobile accounts, bills, and number transfers
Mobile support is generally not divided by Bay Area city. Contact the brand that holds your account and issues the bill; using another carrier’s network does not make that carrier responsible for your billing.

PG&E, municipal utilities, and community-choice electricity
Most cities use PG&E for electricity delivery and moving an account. Alameda, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, and Healdsburg have municipal electricity services; use their city entries. PG&E residential customer service is 877-660-6789. Names such as Ava Community Energy, MCE, WestLight Energy (formerly Peninsula Clean Energy), San José Clean Energy, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Sonoma Clean Power, or CleanPowerSF usually identify generation plans. Start with the actual delivery utility for connections, outages, and account setup. Confirm gas separately; municipal electricity does not imply the same gas provider.
PG&E says an account generally cannot simply be renamed to another person. Usually the old holder stops service and the new holder starts an account, coordinating effective dates; exceptions follow the official process.
Unincorporated communities and city boundaries
Communities such as Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Alamo, Kensington, El Sobrante, North Fair Oaks, and Marin City are not counted among the 101 incorporated municipalities above. A postal city name does not prove that the property is inside that city’s service area. Ask the landlord or manager which providers currently bill the property, then check the county, water district, and waste franchise boundaries rather than using the nearest city’s contacts. Private wells, septic systems, special campuses, and commercial properties may follow different arrangements.
