A post often struggles not because nobody needs it, but because people can't understand it, don't feel confident, or still need to ask a dozen questions. When posting housing, services, or used items on BayLink, the goal isn't to sound like an ad. Make it clear who you are, what you offer, and who it's for. Put contact hours in the post, and specific phone, WeChat, or email details in Contact Settings so they can be shared through in-app requests according to your preferences.

Put the details people care about most first

  • Housing: area, home type, rent, move-in date, whether it's shared, and parking availability.
  • Services: what you do, coverage area, available visit times, pricing method, and convenient contact hours.
  • Secondhand: item name, condition, dimensions, price, and pickup method.

Clarity matters more than enthusiasm

Phrases like "great price," "serious seller," "reliable service," and "inquiries welcome" are fine, but the details must already be clear. Give a numerical range when possible, specify time windows, and state restrictions upfront.

Photos should match the description

Show what the room looks like, whether furniture is included, what the service does, or the vehicle type as clearly as possible. Photos that don't match the description undermine trust.

Note

Unrelated old photos, showroom images, or pictures found online may get clicks briefly, but can make people skip, question, or report the post later.

Say who it's for to make it easier for the right people to contact you

  • For housing, you might describe suitability for students, interns, South Bay commuters, or people with or without a car.
  • For services, specify suitability: small moves, local deliveries, deep cleaning, or occasional rides.
  • For used items, specify suitability: move-in essentials, temporary student housing, or replacement household items.

Tip

Before posting, ask yourself: if I were a stranger seeing only this post, would I still need to ask five basic questions? If so, the post can probably be clearer.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Clear information usually helps more than an enthusiastic tone

Before posting housing, services, or secondhand items, look at strong examples in the same BayLink category. You can also read the safety and rental guides to answer likely follow-up questions in advance.
