Finding Your Taiwanese and Chinese Roots: a genealogy seminar

Trace your family through records in the US, Taiwan and China

A Chinese Historical Society of America genealogy seminar on using records, databases and case studies from the US, Taiwan and China to find an ancestral village, plan a homeland visit and preserve family stories; Love Boat alumni are welcome too.

Before you go

  • In person only. The organizers' flyer gives the Wind Room on the top floor of Foster City Community Center, 1000 E Hillsdale Blvd; the CHSA event page names only Foster City Community Center.

  • It suits families long in Taiwan and those who came from mainland China, including in 1949.

  • CHSA’s event page gives 2–5 pm; the organizers’ flyer gives a top-floor meet and greet at 2 pm, the seminar 3–5 pm and Q&A 5–5:30 pm, then an optional group dinner 6–8 pm where each diner pays.

  • Registration opened Oct 15. The short registration link on the CHSA event page now leads to an unrelated page; the organizers' flyer gives the registration page as LoveBoatAlumni.org/roots2026.
