Berkeley Ballet’s The Nutcracker Bird, a nature-themed Nutcracker in Oakland

Berkeley Ballet’s new-and-evolving Nutcracker: Clara and Charlie are drawn into a snowy blizzard by a Nutcracker Bird and a Snowy Owl, then meet the Sunlight Fairy, erupting volcanoes and glittering constellations. It plays at the Regents’ Theater on the former Holy Names University campus in Oakland, not in Berkeley, with sweet treats before and a meet-the-dancers party after each show.
